Managed by West Dunbartonshire Council Health and Social Care Partnership alongside NHSGGC, the new health centre, which formally opened its doors in December 2021, is a modern replacement for existing premises located on Kilbowie Road, Clydebank, and forms part of the major Queens Quay Regeneration of the former John Brown & Company Shipyard.
The aim of the new facility is to improve the standard (and quantity) of available health services in the Clydebank community and the wider local authority region with GP & nursing services as well as health visitors, social workers, dental and podiatry departmental staff on hand to serve up to 40,000 people annually.
Arc-Tech (Scotland) worked on behalf of Main Contractor BAM Construct UK, in partnership with hub West Scotland, with the provision of a fully-optimised Mechanical and Electrical Services package. This included:
Arc-Tech is a BAM Tier 1 Subcontractor and has previously, successfully, delivered the award-winning Elgin and Mappin Ward of the Stobhill Acute Mental Health Estate at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow which was completed in 2020 as well as helping to support two, additional support needs schools in West Lothian.
The health centre itself is also immediately adjacent to a further two Arc-Tech projects that form part of the Queens Quay Regeneration: Queens Quay House, an 82-bed care home, was also completed in 2020, and the Queens Quay Regeneration, a residential development that is presently under construction by Main Contractor, CCG (Scotland).
