A 19th century, Grade B Listed building, the school was an important educational and social hub to many people for decades but, after having lain derelict for a number of years, the decision was taken by Glasgow City Council to re-purpose the building so that history was preserved and it could be used to the benefit of the community once more.
Elderpark Housing, whose former offices were located within a short walking distance of the site, purchased the site in 2017 with the intent to use the building as their new office. The previous building had cramped conditions that were not suitable for staff or tenants with a lack of space and privacy.
The Hills Trust then has allowed the association to improve their level of service by creating a welcoming, comfortable environment that includes private meeting rooms and offices, a new board room and staff break-out areas to help promote integration. Historical features have also been retained throughout as a nod to the building’s heritage.
Working alongside CCG (Scotland), Arc-Tech provided a full turnkey M&E solution for the project with a list of Services including:
The Former Hills Trust was officially handed over to Elderpark Housing in the winter of 2020.
