Western Villages forms part of the £1.3bn Granton Waterfront Regeneration, and is a 444-home project led by The City of Edinburgh Council and CCG (Scotland).
It is the largest ‘net zero ready’ residential development in Scotland, with a combination of enhanced fabric performance and zero-emissions heating system – designed and installed by Arc-Tech (Scotland) – combining to address operational net zero carbon.
Arc-Tech worked alongside Hawthorne Boyle, CCG’s in-house Technical Department, and many other consultancy and subcontractor delivery partners to develop the project’s M&E strategy – including the installation of sprinklers and over 2000 solar PV panels.
It is this partnership approach that has been recognised by the Unlock Net Zero Awards, which granted the Best Collaboration (Partnership) award to the Council and CCG at a glitzy awards ceremony in Manchester on 24 June.
Unlock Net Zero is an organisation designed to educate, inform and connect people and businesses who are deploying a net zero approach to their operations, products, and services.
The third annual awards were hosted as part of the Housing 2025 Conference, bringing together a wide range of innovative companies from across the UK.
