An Arc-Tech (Scotland) project has been shortlisted for one of Scotland’s most prestigious architectural awards.
The RIAS Best Building in Scotland Award was established by Andrew Doolan in 2002, and renamed in his honour after his death two years later. All winners of this year’s previously announced RIAS Awards were put forward for the prize, with this year’s three finalists including Paisley Central Library.
Led by CCG (Scotland) in partnership with hub West Scotland for Renfrewshire Council and designed by Collective Architecture, the project transformed former High Street retail premises into a modern library, learning and events hub. Through careful restoration and structural enhancement, the building has been given a new lease of life while preserving its important place within Paisley’s town centre.
Arc-Tech (Scotland) proudly contributed to the delivery of the project by installing a turnkey M&E services solution, supporting the creation of a high-quality, energy-efficient and future-ready community facility. Working alongside the wider project team, our involvement helped bring this award-winning development to life.
The RIAS judges praised the building’s ability to integrate into its historic streetscape in a modern yet understated way, describing it as an inspirational example of how underused High Street buildings can be transformed for future generations.
The winner of the Doolan prize will be announced on 8 October. Fore more information, CLICK HERE
