One of the most sought-after tickets on the property calendar, the Herald Property Awards for Scotland celebrate the very best projects from the Scottish residential and commercial sectors.
This year’s awards took place on 25 September in Glasgow and featured 10 projects supported by Arc-Tech (Scotland)’s in-house services, and of the 10 shortlisted, five received a top prize, including the Lost Shore Surf Resort, which was honoured with the Judges’ Special Recognition Award.
The pioneering project, designed by Oberlanders Architects with HarrisonStevens, is home to Europe’s largest wave pool, and has grown to become one of Scotland’s premier tourist destinations following its opening in 2024.
Arc-Tech supported Malcolm Group with a £7m M&E Services package, which supported the delivery of the impressive Wavegarden, as well as various onsite amenities such as shops, restaurants, wellness treatments and overnight accommodation.
Of course, Lost Shore wasn’t the only winner on the evening…
Arc-Tech’s capabilities also extend to residential, and no less than four developments were recognised across five categories.
Clydebank East is an 88-home ‘net zero ready’ development in West Dunbartonshire. It is one of three projects across the Central Belt to adopt a combined Air Source Heat Pump (cASHP) district heating system for hot water and space heating requirements, designed and installed by Arc-Tech in partnership with Hawthorne Boyle.
Delivered by CCG (Scotland) for West Dunbartonshire Council, Clydebank East secured the coveted ‘Affordable Housing Development of the Year’ award.
Water Row, a 92-home development that neighbours the Govan-Partick Bridge in Glasgow’s southside, also secured two awards, with Brandon Street – a part-conversion, part-new-build in Motherwell, and Maltings Wynd – a private housing development in north Glasgow – also securing an award each.
Arc-Tech’s Renewables and Sprinklers divisions were each deployed across the projects, supporting both their respective energy and fire safety strategies.
