Dykehead Road, forming part of the Holehills Regeneration in Airdrie, has been shortlisted in the Best Regeneration Project category, and Castlehill Road, the first of a multi-phase regeneration in Wishaw, has been shortlisted for the Best Healthy Homes Development.
Both projects, comprising over 240 affordable homes, were delivered by Main Contractor CCG (Scotland) on behalf of North Lanarkshire Councill with support coming from Arc-Tech in the form of Mechanical Services with the installation of sprinklers and Renewable Services with solar PV panel provision for every plot.
Dykehead Road used an enhanced, Renewable Services offering for a range of 19 ‘pilot’ properties within the masterplan. The homes were constructed to an operational net zero carbon standard of build. Each adopted an innovative solar battery storage unit with the Council assessing their future use as a way of tackling fuel poverty.
The TESLA ‘Powerwall’ units store energy captured from the solar panels during daylight hours for future use and can significantly lower fuel costs.
The units were the first to have been installed by Arc-Tech since becoming a TESLA-certified installer in 2022.
