Situated along the banks of the White Cart River overlooking Auldhouse Park, the 2.46ha Riverford Gardens development site sits within the confluence of Pollokshaws, Shawlands, Shawbridge and Newlands and will comprise a total of 156 homes upon its completion in 2020.
Led by private developer CCG Homes, the housing mix consists of 104 one and two-bedroom apartments, 12 semi-detached three-bedroom houses and 40 four-bedroom terraced villas, a house type that is a modern interpretation of the traditional Glasgow South terrace reaching three stories.
In response to CCG Homes’ requirements to deliver modern, energy-efficient homes for their purchasers, they employed Arc-Tech to supply and install the entirety of the development’s Renewable Services package in the form of solar PV comprising 59 systems and a total of 491 panels. Full maintenance services are also provided.
Due to the differing styles of housing typologies constructed, two different types of solar systems have been used working with mounting kit and module suppliers Renusole Variosole and Viridian Solar.
As a direct result of using solar PV, Riverford Gardens is able to create a carbon saving of 40,897 kg of Co2 per year.
