Mechanical, Electrical and renewables specialist welcomes six new trade apprentices, building on a decade of growth and a full retention rate of this year’s graduates.
Arc-Tech (Scotland), the Glasgow-headquartered mechanical, electrical and renewables specialist, has confirmed six new apprentices will join the business in August 2026 across its electrical and plumbing trades.
The new intake, aged between seventeen and nineteen years old, takes Arc-Tech’s total apprentices employed to 19 and comes as the business continues to scale up as one of Scotland’s leading building services contractors, providing mechanical, electrical, and renewable service packages for clients across the private and public sectors.
Founded in 2016, Arc-Tech has grown from a small founding team into a business employing 120 people and generating an annual turnover in excess of £35m.
The business supports work across a variety of sectors, including tailored solar & renewable heating and fire suppression solutions for new build housing, commercial, and industrial contracts.
Arc-Tech has also built a particular reputation in the care sector, having supported the delivery of 13 care homes across 10 Scottish local authority areas since 2016, representing more than 600 private bed spaces and rising to over 800 by the end of 2027.
The new apprentices will combine on-site experience with structured college learning and mentorship from experienced engineers, working towards industry-recognised qualifications across a range of disciplines.
The intake comes at a time when demand for skilled M&E tradespeople is rising sharply across Scotland, driven by the pace of new housing delivery, the retrofit and energy-efficiency agenda, and the wider transition to net zero and renewable heat and power systems.
Arc-Tech says its apprenticeship programme is a direct response to that skills gap, and to the risk it poses to the pace of delivery across the sector.
Of this year’s graduates, retained permanent roles within the business, while four staff members are involved in a form of traineeship, which Arc-Tech points to as evidence of the strength of its culture and career progression routes available to young people.
