WORKS have commenced on a new upgrade to Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow where services in mental health are set to be improved.

In partnership with Hub West Scotland, on behalf of NHSGCC, Main Contractor BAM Construction are on site with the £11m upgrade which will see the delivery of brand new acute mental health wards dedicated to adult in-patient care as well as functional health issues.

Arc-Tech (Scotland) Ltd are assisting with the delivery and are providing a full turnkey Mechanical and Electrical Services package, from digital engineering through to the installation consisting of all plumbing, heating, ventilation and sprinklers as well as lighting, fire, security, data and power systems.

The firm will also utilise an innovative prefabricated solution to create corridor and plantroom service modules.

Arc-Tech has grown to become one of Scotland’s best Building Services providers and returns to the Health sector having recently completed works with NHS Forth Valley. The company has also previously worked with Hub West Scotland in Inverclyde on two primary schools – Moorfoot and St Ninian’s – and an early learning centre – Glenpark – located in Gourock and Greenock respectively.

As a direct result of the contract, BAM Construction has donated two Portakabins to the Springburn Park Men’s Shed, a charity that supports and resources for men of all ages suffering from depression and loneliness. In offering additional support, Arc-Tech provided electrical services to help provide power.
