ARC-TECH RAISE FUNDS FOR MENTAL HEALTH CHARITY
Arc-Tech (Scotland) Ltd has raised funds for Chris’ House, a Wishaw-based mental health charity after participating in an ‘It’s a Knockout’ charity fun day hosted by CCG.
A total of 22 teams took part in the event at M&D’s Strathclyde Park undertaking a series of tasks that included scaling a giant inflatable assault course as well as other highly-amusing games.
Each participant of the ten-man strong teams was tasked with raising money for their chosen charity with the “Arc-Tech Avengers” choosing Chris’ House raising £580.
A total of 25 charities benefited from the event include Prostate Cancer UK, Scottish Mental Health Charity, Revive MS, SiMBA and Chris’ House.
Anne Rowan, Founder and Operations Manager of Chris’ House, said:
“Chris’s House are delighted to be one of the chosen recipients for ‘It’s A Knockout’. Our charity works with people in suicidal crisis and those who have lost loved ones to suicide, with the current climate losing 2 males a day to suicide in Scotland it is crucial, at this point, to raise awareness especially when construction is a male-dominated industry.
“By workforces getting involved in such a fabulous event it raises awareness and lets people know it’s ok to talk; our motto being “Let’s Talk”. We are truly appreciative of all the efforts of everyone involved on the day.
Arc-Tech Managing Director, John Gallacher, said:
“The ‘It’s a Knockout Day’ is a fantastic day out for staff and families but of course, the goal is to raise money for charity and Chris’ House was a unanimous choice for our staff. The work this charity is doing to support those in suicidal crisis is truly heart-warming.
“Suicide is a huge issue across the nation and in the construction sector, the rate of suicide amongst men is three times the national average. This is why we felt it was important to support a local charity like Chris’ House where we wanted to provide support to those who desperately need it.
“We wish the charity well in their future endeavours and we can continue our support in the future.”
Arc-Tech would like to thank the following for their kind donations: CCG Chairman and CEO Alastair Wylie, Edmundson Electrical, PFP 2000, Cleartech, MTE Ventilation, Algas and ACI.
